Marcus Addis is a landmark culinary destination in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, created by world-renowned chef and restaurateur Marcus Samuelsson in partnership with Albwardy Hospitality and the Hyatt Regency.

Sitting on the 47th floor of the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia building—the tallest building in East Africa—the restaurant blends contemporary design with Ethiopian artistic influences to offer an immersive dining experience that celebrates both local culture and international sophistication. The menu showcases a fusion of global flavors and Ethiopian culinary heritage, featuring innovative dishes that reimagine traditional ingredients like teff and berbere in modern, creative ways. 

Chef Marcus Samuelsson is an icon in the global food world, celebrated for his multicultural approach to cuisine and his ability to weave together diverse culinary traditions. Born in Ethiopia and raised in Sweden, Chef Samuelsson has earned multiple James Beard awards and has led numerous successful restaurants around the world, including New York’s Red Rooster and other MARCUS branded venues. Marcus Addis holds personal significance for him as his first restaurant on the African continent, symbolizing a return to his roots and an opportunity to elevate Ethiopian cuisine on the world stage.
